Why are you hiding my friend?
Why are you cowering under your thoughts?
Why are you scared of the truth?
Why not show it, my friend.
When our world was dark
Ignorant people like you would have thrived
That is why we are here
To evolve, to learn.
So why do you still hide my friend?
When you are the key?
The key to evolution.
To change.

It all starts with one small belief
A belief drifting
Solitary
A spark
Rising from a figure
Lurking.
A thought once concealed
Now spoken to our world
A vision, in the distance
Listen.
A crevassed face
A hidden thought
Kept a secret
Now perished.
Ida
A vast expanse of despair
Our mistakes
Layed out below us
Our doom
This is where we perish.
Or...
You can be the one
The one who dares not cower
But steps up to the challenge
Raise your voice
And others will raise theirs.
A world full of life no longer
As we cry for our lost ones
Filled with guilt
The intricate ways of despair
Are there for them, but not for you
Be brave, be brave
And our world shall be peaceful once more.

A leaf, a lake, an oak
Memories pollute the air, good and bad
Remember the past
The humans who left plastic
One the earth's surface
But today the leaves reach out to us lightly and gently
And teaches us a lesson
Take risks and learn from them my friend
Make better choices
Your hand, making actions
But never hide from the future.

A lone bird perched in the remains of his empire
Barren lands grieve
Smog filled skies weep in sorrow
Blackened seas cry of murder
The lone bird gazes upon his land
Once a wonder, now a graveyard of souls
His world is broken
His soul is weak
So he opens his mouth to sing.
He sings of the green that used to be
And of the vast blue water that was the sea
Of trees that towered towards the sky
Of the woodland creatures that used to thrive
He sings of the earth that loved to live
Of the manmade slaughter that did not give
How they stayed in their shells of greed and hate
And let the world drown in their mistakes.
A small shadow approaches
And hears the bird's song of sadness
His young heart swells with hope
As he spies a sapling within the dust
It sits there
Its fragile figure
So small, so green
The boy gazes at it, mesmerised
By its beauty
The boy caresses its delicate stem
And a small belief starts of grow.
I am real pleased with my poem.I like Dom's and Jess F's.
ReplyDeleteI've started writing poems at home this is favorite one,If you are strong and care for nature, If you gallop along side the sea, Then the wind shall follow you, But remember you are a soul, A soul with a family, And family is all that matters.
