I remember losing a whole roll of photos after not inserting the film correctly while travelling in the Soviet Union in 1991, and knowing that they were lost forever!
Dad said that he has some that he has not developed also. He really should because it probably has some cool pictures of my Uncle and Aunty. He says that he once brought some film that needed to be stored in a fridge to keep it cool.
My mum used one of those film cameras and stashed the camera film in her pocket. She then placed her pants in the washing machine and lost all of her photos. She also said they were quite expensive to get printed as well.
The film had to contact to the camera so that beable to function so you could start taking pictures. It could not be exposed to light before taking pictures.
